Information from Parent Meeting 10/15
Thanks to all the parents who attended the meeting Monday night. The Sweethearts have been asked to participate in the nationally televised Children's Christmas Parade in downtown Dallas on December 1. Each girl will need to raise between $300-$400 by November 15. Sweethearts will be selling drinks and snacks after school, and each girl will sell chocolates to pay for her part of the expenses. There will be another meeting October 29 to discuss the parade and update our progress with the fundraising. We will confirm the date, place and time on the blog next week.

This week our game is Thursday, September 6th at 7PM at Franklin Stadium. If your parents want to pick you up after the game, they will need to sign you out at the game. Mrs. King will have a clipboard for all parents to sign. Please know this is in place for the safety of the Sweethearts.
The game starts at 7PM because it is a Thursday game. This means all Sweethearts need to be ready by 5:15 sharp and loaded on the bus by 5:30.

Upcoming Sweetheart Practice with the Woodrow Band
All Sweethearts will practice with the Woodrow Band on Tuesday, August 21st at 6:00 PM. Practice will include setting the famous "HEART" and also setting everyone on yard lines for the first dance. This is a very important rehearsal, please work on clearing your evening to attend rehearsal. Practice will conclude at 8 PM sharp!!!!

August 24 Dance Performance
Mrs. King needs 40 dancers from Sweethearts and WDT to perform on Friday, August, 24. You will perform for all the teachers in DISD! She expects all MO's and SO's to perform. Dress rehearsal will be August 23rd. You will be able to get the T-Shirt form and Parent Consent form during camp next week. If you are not in Sweethearts and not attending camp please print the form at the bottom of the page and return it to Mrs. King the day of rehearsal. Please take the poll that is posted on the right side of the blog. We have been notified that the current email system sometimes takes as long as 48 hours to notify parents and students. Also the current form does not allow for questions and answers to be given. We have decided to take a poll over the weekend on which you would rather have an email list or a facebook page. If an email list is decided upon it would take some time for the parent to return all requests and answer all questions. If a facebook page is decided upon it would allow automatic comments which could be answered by other drill team members and parents. The poll will close on Monday June 4th at 7 am. New Spring Show T-Shirts
The new spring show t-shirts will be on sale Sunday during dress rehearsal and Monday during spring show. They are ten dollars each get yours early before they sell out!

Practice time for Woodrow students is 7:30 am on A days, please be in line by 7:35 or you will receive a demerit. Practice time for 8th grade is Wednesdays at 4:30 pm and if not in line by 4:35 you will receive a demerit. If you skip practice you will not perform in Spring Show.

Monday April 16th
On Monday April 16th at 8am all money from raffle ticket sales are due. At 4:30 pm they will begin picking squads for the upcoming year please have your daughter attend. At 5 pm they will draw the winner of the raffle.

Spring Show
The wristbands for Spring Show were given out today. The Spring Show is April 30th at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Each wristband is $10.00 and the money will go towards the girls camp and uniform cost.

It's Fundraiser Time!
The girls were given raffle tickets at the meeting tonight for the first fundraiser of the year. The money raised from the sale of the raffle tickets will go towards each girls camp and uniform costs. Please have your daughter turn in all raffle ticket money on April 16th. The details of the raffle are as follows:
*Each raffle ticket is $5.00 or five tickets for $20.00
*Tickets are for the April 29th game
*Included are 4 tickets and 1 VIP parking pass
*Also they are handing out free red jerseys for the children at this game and it is $1.00 Blue Bell Ice Cream night.
*Make checks payable to Sweetheart Booster Club

Camp Dates
The dates for Military Officer Camp are June 6th through June 10th and this camp will be in Houston, Texas. The dates for Line Camp are June 25th through June 28th and this camp will be in Richardson, Texas.
8th Grade Practice
Incoming 8th grade girls will have a practice for Spring Show starting on Wednesday April 4th at 4:30 pm in the dance portable. This practice should reoccur weekly, should this change I will repost with the current information.
Sweetheart Booster Meeting
A Sweetheart Booster meeting will be held on Monday April 2nd at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Please attend this important meeting as information about fundraising will be discussed. Also note that there will be a uniform fitting at this meeting.
