Sweetheart Night at Subway/TCBY

Tomorrow night, Tuesday, October 30, we will have another Sweetheart night at the Subway/TCBY at Mockingbird and Abrams from 3 pm to close.  Please tell them you are with the Woodrow Sweethearts and we will receive a percentage of the night's sales.  Tell your friends and family to come and support our girls!

Parent Meeting

There will be a Parent Meeting this Monday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 in Ms. King's portable to discuss fundraising for the Christmas Parade.

Woodrow vs. Bryan Adams

Come and support our Wildcats this Friday night, Oct. 19 at 7:30 as they take on the Bryan Adams Cougars.  And of course, halftime will feature another stellar performance by our awesome band and the award-winning Sweethearts.  The game is at the Forester Athletic Complex, 8233 Military Parkway

Information from Parent Meeting 10/15

Thanks to all the parents who attended the meeting Monday night.  The Sweethearts have been asked to participate in the nationally televised Children's Christmas Parade in downtown Dallas on December 1.  Each girl will need to raise between $300-$400 by November 15.  Sweethearts will be selling drinks and snacks after school, and each girl will sell chocolates to pay for her part of the expenses. There will be another meeting October 29 to discuss the parade and update our progress with the fundraising. We will confirm the date, place and time on the blog next week.

This week our game is Thursday, September 6th at 7PM at Franklin Stadium. If your parents want to pick you up after the game, they will need to sign you out at the game. Mrs. King will have a clipboard for all parents to sign. Please know this is in place for the safety of the Sweethearts.

The game starts at 7PM because it is a Thursday game. This means all Sweethearts need to be ready by 5:15 sharp and loaded on the bus by 5:30.

Also, the Social Officers will be taking orders for Subway tomorrow. Money is due on Thursday morning.

First Day of School

We will not have practice in the morning. We will meet in P146 for class at 8:55 AM.

Subway and TCBY Fundraiser Night, Monday, August 20th

On Monday, August 20th, the Sweethearts will be participating in a fundraiser at Subway and TCBY at the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams from 3PM until close.

Subway and TCBY have asked for Parents and Students to promote the fundraiser through Social Media. Invite all family and friends!!!

The Mary Kay Make-up colors the Sweethearts will be using for all performances will be:

Order forms were supplied today if you would like to purchase. Half of the amount is due on Monday, 08/20 and the remaining balance will be due the first week of school.

Upcoming Sweetheart Practice with the Woodrow Band

All Sweethearts will practice with the Woodrow Band on Tuesday, August 21st at 6:00 PM. Practice will include setting the famous "HEART" and also setting everyone on yard lines for the first dance. This is a very important rehearsal, please work on clearing your evening to attend rehearsal. Practice will conclude at 8 PM sharp!!!!

On Saturday August 11th Sweethearts will have a car wash from 8am till 1pm at Los Dos Reales on 108 North Fitzhugh Avenue Dallas, TX 75246‎ tickets will be given out at camp so you can sell them in advance for $5. You must show up to the car wash in order to benefit from the proceeds.

Monday August 13th tryouts for the 1st game will be held at 8:30 am. In order to be in the 1st game you must make tryouts and have your balance paid in full.  Also on the 13th will be tryouts for  the Cub Camp Performance.

Car Wash Fundraiser

On Saturday August 11th Sweethearts will have a car wash from 8am till 1pm at Los Dos Reales on 108 North Fitzhugh Avenue Dallas, TX 75246‎ tickets will be given out at camp so you can sell them in advance for $5. You must show up to the car wash in order to benefit from the proceeds.

August 24 Dance Performance

Mrs. King needs 40 dancers from Sweethearts and WDT to perform on Friday, August, 24. You will perform for all the teachers in DISD! She expects all MO's and SO's to perform. Dress rehearsal will be August 23rd. You will be able to get the T-Shirt form and Parent Consent form during camp next week. Monday August 13th

Woodrow Wilson Sweethearts at HTE Dance

Sweethearts won the coveted FINAL "Spirit Stick" in recognition of the growth of the team. They had over 60% rookies on the team at camp and still gave a stellar performance.  Also, four Sweethearts "Kia, Jessica, DeDe, and Bethany" made it to HTE's Kick Academy and have been invited to perform in Hawaii. Sweethearts did a great job and represented Woodrow well!

I just spoke with Mrs. King and she says the Sweethearts are doing amazing at camp. :)

*Final Camp Update*

We are aware of only four girls using Dart to go to camp if you decide to also use Dart you MUST notify us TODAY  as we need a final head count.

Everyone else should plan on meeting at Woodrow between 5am and 5:30 am as we will be leaving promptly at 6am.

Please bring your signed waiver with you and another copy has been posted below. Also you must be in your black leggings and black tank top with hair in a bun and makeup and lipstick applied. Don't forget your refillable water container.

Transportation To Camp and Camp Attire

Please plan on meeting at Woodrow at 6 am on June 25th that way everyone will arrive at camp together. Again if you are in need of a ride please contact your Military Officer.  Camp attire has been released and is in the following order:

Day One: Please arrive in your black tank top and black leggings with your hair in a low bun.
Day Two: Black leggings and black tank top a red top will given to you that morning.
Day Three: Black  leggings and black tank top a colored top will be given to you that morning.
Day Four: Black leggings and black tank top a sparkled zebra print top will be given to you that morning.

Check in time June 25th is 7am "PLEASE BE ON TIME." Contact your Military Officer if you need a ride that morning.  June 28th is show off and awards day and it begins at 9am. We will get more information closer to the last day such as what time you need to be picked up from the hotel. We have had several questions about camp wear. You should wear fitted black leggings and a black tank top each day with your jazz shoes. Colored matching tops will be distributed at camp but you will need your black tank top under the camp shirt.

9th Grade Girls Please Read!

If you were in 9th grade last year and have been called to the EOC STAAR Summer Program you have two options either attend the summer academy or take the virtual program. Please contact us  before Sunday June 17th and let us know if you feel you will not be able to attend camp June 25th through June 28th. Please take the poll that is posted on the right side of the blog. We have been notified that the current email system sometimes takes as long as 48 hours to notify parents and students. Also the current form does not allow for questions and answers to be given. We have decided to take a poll over the weekend on which you would rather have an email list or a facebook page. If an email list is decided upon it would take some time for the parent to return all requests and answer all questions. Wednesday May 23, 2012

Please have your daughter come after school on Wednesday May 23 rd to get measured for tops they will wear to upcoming camps and events. There will also be Leotards and Jazz Shoes for sale during this fitting should you need to purchase these items.

Please come by after school on Thursday May 10th to pick up your balance sheet.

New Spring Show T-Shirts

The new spring show t-shirts will be on sale Sunday during dress rehearsal and Monday during spring show. They are ten dollars each get yours early before they sell out!

Spring Show Tickets Due Sunday

Spring show ticket money is due Sunday please bring any tickets not sold as well. Also parents are needed to volunteer to work the concession stand. You can work 1st act or 2 nd act and can sign up on Sunday.

Last Practice and Dress Rehearsal

Please come to the last practice before Spring Show on Monday morning at 7:30 am. Dress Rehearsal will be held on Sunday April 29th at 5pm in the auditorium. Wear your black outfits to both practice and rehearsal.

Please Come To Practice!

There are a few practices left before Spring Show please make sure you attend all practice dates. Practice time for Woodrow students is 7:30 am on A days, please be in line by 7:35 or you will receive a demerit. Practice time for 8th grade is Wednesdays at 4:30 pm and if not in line by 4:35 you will receive a demerit. If you skip practice you will not perform in Spring Show.

Monday April 16th

On Monday April 16th at 8am all money from raffle ticket sales are due. At 4:30 pm they will begin picking squads for the upcoming year please have your daughter attend.  At 5 pm they will draw the winner of the raffle.

Spring Show

The wristbands for Spring Show were given out today. The Spring Show is April 30th at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Each wristband is $10.00 and the money will go towards the girls camp and uniform cost. 

It's Fundraiser Time!

The girls were given raffle tickets at the meeting tonight for the first fundraiser of the year. The money raised from the sale of the raffle tickets will go towards each girls camp and uniform costs. Please have your daughter turn in all raffle ticket money on April 16th.  The details of the raffle are as follows:

*Each raffle ticket is $5.00 or five tickets for $20.00
*Tickets are for the April 29th game
*Included are 4 tickets and 1 VIP parking pass
*Also they are handing out free red jerseys for the children at this game and it is $1.00 Blue Bell Ice Cream night.

Camp Dates

The dates for Military Officer Camp are June 6th through June 10th and this camp will be in Houston, Texas. The dates for Line Camp are June 25th through June 28th and this camp will be in Richardson, Texas.

8th Grade Practice

Incoming 8th grade girls will have a practice for Spring Show starting on Wednesday April 4th at 4:30 pm in the dance portable.  This practice should reoccur weekly, should this change I will repost with the current information.

Sweetheart Booster Meeting

A Sweetheart Booster meeting will be held on Monday April 2nd at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Please attend this important meeting as information about fundraising will be discussed. Also note that there will be a uniform fitting at this meeting.
